It’s difficult not to compare the two Star Wars games, although Outlaws’ open world is much more expansive and there’s no Dark Souls-esque puzzle element. It’s not clear what the overarching story is yet, as the footage we saw focused on a single mission, featuring Kay and her pet critter Nix, who looks a bit like a furry Axolotl and sits on Kay’s shoulder in a suspiciously similar way to BD-1 in Star Wars Jedi.
The game is set in the one year period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, at a tumultuous moment in the Galactic Civil War, when various criminal gangs run rampant, including the Hutts, the Pykes (as see in The Clone Wars animated series and the Solo movie), and a new one invented just for the game.
